Volunteer

Are you ready to be part of a high-performing, dedicated, and passionate organization where innovative, collaborative and enthusiastic people come together to serve a diverse community? We may be just what you are looking for.

The Roaring Fork Fire and Rescue Authority is an organization that strives to serve our neighbors, solve problems, and save lives through our shared passion to serve, dedication of excellence, respect for diversity, and a commitment to our communities.
The agency operates a combination system and provides response to fire, rescue, hazardous materials, and wildland incidents. The agency runs ALS ambulances and provides transport services to two Level III trauma centers in the valley. The communities of Snowmass Village, Basalt, El Jebel, Old Snowmass, and Thomasville all rely on RFFR for 24/7 emergency services.

Assists with 24-hour emergency response in a wide variety of critical situations, including fires, explosions, hazardous materials incidents, medical emergencies, accidents and miscellaneous public assistance requests. In addition, the department operates active fire prevention and emergency preparedness programs which provides for fire inspections, hazardous process permitting, fire code enforcement, community education and business emergency planning in accordance with Colorado laws.
The Volunteers force supported by full time staff that performs fire and emergency medical services and administrative functions. Our volunteers are viewed as an integral part of our success. Without volunteers the Authority would not be able to provide the numerous services we currently offer.
As part of the emergency services, our organization gives you the satisfaction of meeting new challenges, working with fellow members on difficult calls, and seeing the face of someone who can’t even begin to express how grateful they are that you have arrived to help them.
